M1

/[ɛm.œ̃]/n.

Origin

Historical designation for Machine 1 / Mothership 1: the initial dedicated server that ran Synedre before workload growth and isolation doctrines led to the migration toward VPS4.

Definition

The buffer and isolation server of the Synedre fleet. Historically the original mothership, M1 has been repurposed as the designated buffer host for two specialized workloads: client staging/preproduction sites and the Nuxt Build Oven. Under the strict hard floor doctrine ('No client staging on VPS4'), M1 is the sole server authorized to expose staging websites to external testing before final migration to dedicated client VPS machines.

Example

During tenant onboarding, preview sites run on M1 behind basic authentication. The central mothership remains fully shielded from client web traffic and external dependencies.
